that game doesnt look half bad
LONG ago back in '97 when Bonus.com was alive and well, some of you may remember a multiplayer game that was so addictive it kept their players coming back. Sadly, the website dropped off the face of the earth back in 2005 and discontinued their awesome game.
But early last month a few die-hard fans obtained the source code from who knows where and resurrected the game!
It can be found at www.tankpit.com and its super easy to register.
For anyone who has never heard of the game, I urge you to give it a try. This game was THE first Battlefield title (non related, of course) and was one of the first online multiplayer game I ever played.
If you like World of Tanks, this game will be like playing it on NES
The point of the game is simple, you have 4 colors: Red, Orange, Purple, and Blue
You create a tank, choose a color and enter a map. You start as a recruit but work your way up the ladder by gaining experience. Once you reach Sergeant, you must deactive (kill) an opponent that is the same rank or higher than you. You must do this for every rank up until General.
You may see players who are decorated with medals. You can find out what they are and how to obtain them by reading some of the FAQ on the site.
Long live Battlefield!
ps: I go by fps on the maps.
My old name, if any of you played back in the day, was 'Standford Eagle USA' and 'THING2'

Many years ago as a young child I spent countless hours patrolling the Desert plain in my trusty orange tanked nicknamed SWiFtWiNgS20. I was and will still remain Orange for life. I remember you as THING2, I believe you were a Red tank, and there was a clan of THING's while I was playing. I was talking with my girlfriend about games we used to play growing up and it made me decide to look up what was going on with Battlefield. I tried uTanks for the time it lasted and got excited when I saw this thread on this site.
So here I am, nostalgia dragging me back in time to experience a game I put in hundreds of hours into. I remember getting the battered sword for my efforts. But this site Tankpit seems to be down. Hopefully your still active on here to answer my query. I would very much become active again in the game.
Hope all is well, and hope to see you on the battlefield.
i hope this website come online again

This sounds like fun! Will check it out when the site is back up.
Could we coordinate something where all eGO players are the same color or does that not matter for teams? Not looking to start a division but would love to play with fellow clan mates!
Stumped the VG Screenshot Thread on 12/02/2008 (Only person to do so when it was active)
Retired. Thanks for a great 7 years.
Oh my god, this website which was once the most popular thing ever, has been reduced to obscure threads spread across the furthest ends of the internet
I used to play on it in 2002-2004 and after a few years away from it I came back to a pre-beta Bonus.com that had turned to shit. I didn't find out they had gone bankrupt in 2008 until tonight. **** it's depressing.
